Captivity - Day 96 Show me on this elephant where she touched you

I am proud to bring you the libertarian candidate for the 2020 election: Jo Jorgensen. A woman candidate for president. One who doesn't eat babies. Now all the crabapples who said all women must vote for Hillary have to vote for Jo. I think this move was sheer genius, but it was by vote. In November, it will be the megalomaniac, the demented sonambulist, and the woman. I don't care who you vote for, so long as it's Jo. I don't care about her plumbing - I care about her abilities. I vote for, not against. The next time you say we must get the dems or reps in office, look at your paycheck. That's an obscene amount of taxes stolen from you, and it keeps getting bigger. It didn't get that way because of one party. The Patriot Act was bipartisan, as are wars. Obama campaigned on Change, and failed miserably. You want change? Vote libertarian.

Every time we think we've hit Peak SJWery, we are surprised there's more.
This one's a doozy, though.  Are you ready?
Rhode Island is moving to change its official NAME, due to its connection to slavery.

I don't know about you, but every time I hear Rhode Island, I think of slavery. Slavery and malts. Slavery, malts, and Vanessa Hudgens. Slavery, malts, Vanessa Hudgens and Jello wrestling. Ya feel me?

Hold on for the witch burnings all over the country. Only this time it's not going to be witches. It will be sanity. "Hey guys - let's have a sanity burning!"
"Yeah, cool! We'll show those fascists who rules things. We'll burn down the United Nations for peace. Plus somebody said something bad to a black person from a different country, so the place has to burn anyway."

Words cannot convey the abject stupidity of this decision and the ability of the governor to bend over, whilst kissing the creamy buttocks of the SJW-BLM enterprise.

We should have a contest.... come up with new names for Rhode Island.... send me ideas in the comments.
  • Ride Island
  • Tiny Out of the Way State
  • NoSlaveTown
  • Indecisivetown
  • Fuckt
  • PleaseDon'tRiotTown
  • WeDownWitBLMville
  • Not Really an Island

In other news, the Fraternal Order of Police (FOP) is changing its name, because of the existing name's connotation with killing black people. They are renaming themselves the Fraternal Loyal Order of Police (FLOP).

Brooklyn Nine-Nine scrapped existing episodes and will start over to reflect the anti-racist movement.
1984 featured a tv that watched you, as well as rewritten history.

When your payroll department sends you a form with These Easy Instructions....

This is precious.
A man is spending a lot of time involved in protesting.
Unfortunately he gets a little loud.
He gets a little too close.
He's wearing a pink thong and bra.

If they hadn't hauled him off, the SJWs would've slapped him five and told him to keep living his truth.

There's a new rap group.
They're called Nigger.
The unforeseen consequences include many physical injuries, when the little white kids go places to buy Nigger music. They go into record stores, walk up to the counter, look the clerk in the eye, and say "Nigger."

This has caused much confusion and consternation over at BLM. While Nigger is donating 50% of their sales to BLM, BLM doesn't know whether to be grateful or set the record stores on fire.

Everybody despises political commercials - that's a given.
I have to admit the Trump commercials are pretty funny. They show Biden being old and senile. I can't wait for the Biden commercials.

This one's fresh off reality:
I went out (with my burglar mask) to pick up more ammo. Halfway to the car I realize I managed to successfully lock myself out of the house. This is unprecedented. You're going to say, "Why can't Mrs lefty open the door?" That's a really good question.. the answer is because she's 3 hours away, visiting. When  I screw up, I do it exquisitely, like I do everything.

I call my brother, because we exchange keys.
Nope.

So.. Plan B: knock out some glass in the door and let myself in. Not a good choice, but the only choice.  As I'm parking, my hand thanks me. I'm not used to that. There's Mrs lefty, car parked. Worked out well for me, but I couldn't figure out why she was home a few days early. At least the dog was happy to see me, and I got in my house without bloodshed.

And there was a diaper on my office chair. Nobody knows why. It could be worse... the diaper was clean.

What have I learned from this?
Staple the keys to my forehead.

I managed to combine my 2 favorite things in life

Captivity - Day 93 Wanna See My 8 track Collection, Baby?

I like to shake things up by releasing these in odd numerical order. That's about all I've got these days.

Happy F Day, to whom it applies.
It's Sunday - why the F are people mowing at 11am?

I looked up my local mall to see if they were open. They seem to have forgotten to update their page. I know this because it said March 3rd. They were kind enough to let us know Sears was open just fine, and Kay Jewelers had curbside service. "Oh, K? I'd like an engagement ring. Could you bring one to the curb?"

Guitar Center emailed to say it's not too late to get Dad a gift card. I should probably forward this to Wife. I feel privileged: she has an email filter specifically for me. I asked if it brought all my emails to the top and she said close; it brings all  my emails to the trash. Perhaps if I print out the email and leave it on top of the shoe store sale flyer....

Mrs lefty said all men want a threesome.
I looked at her incredulously and said, "What - and disappoint 2 women at the same time?"

I always found myself drawn to technology. If I were doing a play, I'd wind up wanting to do sound instead. Nothing has changed... I want to be the guy who wires up the wireless mics to celebrities. "Ms Vergara? I have to snake this small black wire up your shirt and clamp it to your collar for your microphone. Oops."

Mrs lefty asked me to carry a whole lotta stuff out of the back room. I said, "Excuse me? I don't carry boxes - I am a knowledge worker."

So I carried everything.

Joe Rogan is undergoing SJW canceling (whine, never watch again, expect everyone else to not watch again, contact his boss, contact his advertisers) for making a joke about female comics not being allowed onstage until they orally satisfy him.

It's a joke, you socially correct fun-vacuums. They've been around forever.
I used to be a musical comic. At a college (of course), some SJW boy came up and said we were really bashing Jews. We explained to Cindy that many of the group were Jewish and we bashed everyone equally. Keep in mind that all we did  was song parodies. Then he said we were really hard on women.

I did my level best to remain calm and listen to what he had to say. Susie looked at me and told the group I looked like I was ready to kill him. I've never been good at hiding my emotions. This was over 20 years ago and still gets my snot boiling. It was a sign of things to come. We had to stop doing colleges ($$) because the SJWs were infiltrating campuses. And just the other day, students apologized for letting the police use their bathrooms at one of their informal riots.

Where was I?  Oh, jokes.
Back in the Olde Days<tm>, we'd  listen to a comedian and find him funny or not. If funny, we'd watch. If not funny, we wouldn't watch. I hated Pauly Shore, Carrot Top, Elaine Boosler, Jerry Seinfeld, and all the other whiny, neurotic alleged comedians. Did I call the venues, agents, sponsors, bus companies, parents, and keep it mentally stored in case there was ever social media? Apparently I had a life (or something) and this idea would take way too much time. In addition, I wasn't interested in taking away anybody else's enjoyment of the things I didn't like. Are you seeing any similarities to today?

Joe Rogan: after you read this, know that even though I don't watch or listen to you, I'm squarely behind you. In spirit. Because I can't do shit for you. And because you don't read this blog (although you should). And maybe if famous people read this blog, they'd steal my stuff. As if it were worth stealing. I know you're a psyop, but I promise not to tell anyone.

Make sure you read carefully, unlike me, who likes to look at the pitchers.
I saw something called a Cloud Microphone. Whenever I hear 'cloud,' I cringe. Now I'm wondering if the microphone goes to the cloud and comes back down. That would be a hell of a trick, not to mention the delay.

My BFF is a lesbian.
That makes two women I'm not sleeping with.

In fact, I know a lot of ladies, none of whom have expressed the slightest desire to sleep with me.

My wife is amused. And cruel.
One day at work, a very pretty lady walked up to me and kissed me on the cheek, in full view of a few people. She turned around and walked away. I told my wife, who said she probably lost a bet.  I told you she was cruel. Coincidentally, my BFF, the lesbian, was standing right there with me. We'd sit in the office and rate breasts going by.  Speaking of coincidences, Mrs lefty's BFF was a gay guy. THEY would sit there and rate asses. This dipshit had AIDS, pretty much cured, then took too much whatever, and died falling on his face. He was a great dude and we miss him.

Be Careful Not to Catch Kubernetes

One of the signs of the end of 'civilization' has arrived: there is an attack for android that uses the accelerometer to 'listen' and transmit the results to an attacker.

Microsoft, Google, and Apple clouds are banned in Germany's schools. They do not satisfy Germany's privacy standards.  Pay close attention to the section on Windows 10 telemetry.  There is also a city government in Germany that jettisoned Windows for linux.

Here's 100 linux command line commands explained, for your linux pleasure. No, linux does not have to be run from the command line - it can look just like Windows or anything else.

You're probably bored with your drone and need a little more excitement. Boy, are you in luck: Throwflame has a drone, complete with flamethrower

How about those new USB-C cables? Did you know there are 6 different kinds, that all look the same? My brain hurts.

2300 National Health Service (UK) computers are running Win XP.
I told you socialized medicine is no good.

Say thanks.
Some of the most underappreciated people are those who work at the counter or behind the scenes. People who may know you when you come in to use their services. Some are even downright friendly.

Next time you go to one of these places (vet, doctor's office, etc), bring something along, if you appreciate their service. Nobody else does, and the reaction is open-mouthed surprise. Thank the person who gave you a later appointment when you overslept, or who got something done for you faster than usual. Bring a donut or a dozen. Coffee. Candy. It costs little and means a lot.

Dear lefty

NATO mistakenly published the location of 150 US nuclear warheads in Europe. Pure genius. Also, the US is reportedly spending up to $10 billion to modernize this arsenal.

  1. can I have a few of the old ones?
  2. I TOLD YOU about the dangers of Big Government and the Military Industrial Complex. Endless war. Your money is paying for this. Imagine how much more of your own money you'd have if the military were for a strong defense only... you could more than afford ridiculously expensive health insurance.
  3. President Eisenhower said this about the Military Industrial Complex

Irony Runs Thick

Bernie Sanders' campaign workers are demanding a $15/hr "living wage" and 100% free healthcare for those earning under $60k.  The campaign has thus far resisted.

UPDATE: unable to take the battering of the Irony Squad, workers were granted $15/hr. And had their hours cut.

HIM: when is the meeting?
ME: what meeting
HIM: the meeting with Bob's Incorporated
ME: I'm not aware of any meeting
HIM: the one with Bob's
ME: I'm still not aware of any meeting
HIM: you sent me an email, asking me about the meeting
ME: no, I sent you an email, asking you to FIND this in the Bob Box. If it makes you happy, you can meet with Bob's.
HIM: No thank you. I'm confused.
ME: I concur.

  • Remember the Mosquito? The device that emits high frequencies that only 20 somethings can hear, but not 30s. It's to repel people, like in riots. Well, it's being used in public parks in Philthydelphia. The city that wants your guns, taxes your sugary beverages, and is proud to be a sanctuary city.
  • The city is using a riot tool to keep people out of city parks after dark.

There's some sort of problem with the way humans hear and (hopefully) comprehend. It comes in 2 forms: phone and email. The words in capitals are the words the person hears....

PHONE
Hi - I want to kill your daughters HI BOB - HOW ARE YA?

for some reason, people don't hear the first words you say.

EMAIL
1. DO YOU KNOW WHERE THE REPORTS ARE?
2. Would you like a raise?

you will get an answer to 1 but not a word about 2. This applies to anything you ask for with 2 topics or more.

SJW Linux

I saw something on Twitter last night which gave me the douche chills. It looks like the Social Justice Warriors are trying to infiltrate linux. After further research (I read the next tweet), it appears that Linus (Torvalds, Mr. Linux), the hard talking, hard cursing, hard time king of linux, is getting tired of the demands of SJWs. He apologized for his hard time style, his angry antics, and for not having a more pronounceable name.

After getting over the initial shock, additional research (the next tweet in line) showed that Linus has gotten a lot of crap from SJWs, including in-person threats. With his careful verbiage, I think he either got sued, or is trying for a new job.

With that out of the way, I introduce SJW Linux, the new distribution created by force, intentionally made for the underrepresented victims of The Patriarchy. What is The Patriarchy, you ask? It's anyone who doesn't agree with the SJWs, conveniently, including women (except any non-CIS hetero women or women who identify as oppressed minority victims of The Patriarchy). Or men who think they're going to get some if they act like they have no genitals. Just kidding - all men are disposable. And anyone who has taken a look at the SJWs could not be forgiven for wanted some from them. Unless you like grossly overweight women with green hair who think everybody wants them.

This particular blog entry may fall short for the average Windows user, but I'll try. My linux user will really enjoy it.

Without further stuff like the above, I give you SJW Linux....

  • The command kill will only be valid if followed by Trump or White Privilege, CIS, male, or patriarchy,
  • The command man will be deleted completely, unless used as kill man.
  • cd, (change directory) now means crossdresser. No one knows what this command will do, but only members of The Patriarchy question SJWs.
  • chown, (change owner) now refers to giving all permissions to The Matriarchy, which is owed reparations for poor treatment by those with White Privilege.
  • date, (set date) is now any non-binary outing of the oppressed.
  • less, (view file contents) is now representative of what SJWs have traditionally gotten from The Patriarchy, which entitles them to whatever they want.
  • locate, (locate) finds the current reason they are owed something by some oppressive group.
  • ls, (list directory contents) lists a random tweet to respond to anyone who says anything disagreed with by someone who identifies as at least 41 of the genders.
  • rm, (delete) see kill man.
  • who, (who is logged on) now lists who is oppressing us today.
  • top, (system resources) is also dead because every SJW is equal (although white males, and people who identify as white males, are not).
  • ssh, (log into a different machine) is now 'shush and don't disagree with me.
  • touch, (create a file) what CIS heteros will never do to me.
  • awk, (find and replace text) changes all instances of man to woman.
  • bash, (a shell) deletes any text that disagrees with our mission (mission to be determined).
  • echo, (display on screen) hooks up between 2 + 100,000 computers of any genders who all agree with the mission (mission to be determined). Always created online.
  • false, (do nothing) anything typed by CIS white males, to be deleted
  • jobs, (list active jobs) useful work done by the computer, as opposed to the user
  • shutdown, (shut down) goes online, creating a lot of noise, stops any discussion with which we disagree.

You can download this distribution at any site that treats all people equal (except CIS Hetero Males and all members of The Patriarchy, who oppress everybody). Although all linux distributions are free, this one will collect a mandatory donation of $25 and distribute it to worthy organizations which fight all forms of White Privilege.

Flavoring Fish With Lemon Sharks

If you say "OMG" out loud, I don't want to know you.

  • As JFK said, "Ich bin ein blogger"

Remember Wyatt Earp? Now there's a tv show Wynonna Earp. Because there's nothing worth doing that can't be done again and again and again. And there's nothing that can be done again and again and again that can't be done with a woman replacing the man. Oceans 11, with an all female cast, was such a flop that they had to make more. In fact, Oceans 27 is in production, starring Rosie O'Donnell, Rose Marie, Rose McGowan, and Roseanne Barr, with Rosie Perez narrating.

Here's what's coming up for next season:

Jeez Louise Christ Superstar, starring Supreme Court Justice Ruth Ginsburg as Jesus, and Michele Obama as Paul, who has to keep poking Ginsburg with a cross to keep her awake
All in the Family, with Bea Arthur as Archie Bunker
Family Guy, starring an animated Meryl Streep as Peter
Young Shelly, with Whoopie Goldberg as Sheldon
Americans Idle, featuring Joan Jett as Howard Stern
Better Call Sauly, starring Sally Struthers
Fargo, with Oprah Winfrey as the town of Fargo
Orange is the New Black, featuring the cast of Orphan Black
The Walking Dead, with an army of zombie Miley Cyruses. A new reality show!
Game of Thrones, with every role played by Emilia Clarke. That I'd watch. And Allison Janney as Peter Dinklage
Parks and Recreation, with Taraji P. Henson as Chevy Chase and Queen Latifah playing the part of King Latifah

  • LabCorp, the largest blood testing lab in the US, was hacked over the weekend. Test results were delayed, although no misuse of data has been detected. Parts of the network were shut down upon discovery.
  • They have your test results, folks.

I remember the Good Old Days<tm>, when the sexes 'worked out', wearing their cute little outfits and leaving each other alone. Of course, this was not to remain as-is, because the Social Justice Workers were out for blood. Men's blood, more specifically. Male only gyms were sued to let women in. They won. Female gyms were sued to let males in. They lost.

Three women were recently thrown out of a Planet Fitness for objecting to a transexual woman in their locker room. Once again, the SJWs were out, in all their glory, dictating who the new protected minority is.

It was a great run, ladies.
If you ever need to get out of anything, identify as Trans. Until the next protected minority is announced. At this rate, if we hang in long enough, it'll be men.

P.S. the Google spellchecker choked on transexual.

  • Speaking of words, here are some taken from my morning reading:  a shift in tactics to reach new heights in volumetric campaigns, patchwork IT systems, both legacy and non-legacy, that are impossible to secure holistically

There's an awful lot of words in this article, but I think I have the idea: A Seattle University professor recently worried that women in STEM may feel bad after reading an article on innate sex differences. Some words in the article are unconscious bias, flat earth, and innate sex differences.

The professor denies there are any inherent differences in the genders; the differences are due to conditioning. The gender bias must be corrected.  If I were a woman, which, as of last time I checked, I am not, I'd be pretty charged up over this article. I will now carry on in my Woman Voice: This lady argues for more of my gender in STEM but that reading an article on the possibility of inherent gender differences might make me feel bad. If that's where the SCIENCE leads, it doesn't matter how I feel. I am not a snowflake, I am a scientist. To treat my entire gender otherwise is to insinuate we need to be treated as special, with bias. I'll get by on my brain, not my vagina. [/end Woman Voice]

  • You were just wondering to yourself what the undisputed king of ransomware was, weren't you. This week it's GrandCrab. This ransomware can only be treated with GrandPenicillin (and a pot of boiling water).

In light of 12 Russians being indicted on election tampering charges, you should read this article about software used to count votes. The vendor supplied remote control software PC Anywhere to 'a small number of customers'. PC Anywhere, remote control software, contains a bug that allows anyone accessing the machine access without a password. Hackers stole the source code to PC Anywhere.  This was discovered in 2006 but not released until 2012. The company that produced the voting software is stonewalling official inquiries.

I am not offering a theory as to how or whether any election was hacked. This is purely information from the industry - you can use it with other information to make up your own mind. It definitely proves my statement that there should be NO remote access to any part of voting and paper ballots are the way to go. If any of you remember, back in the Bill Clinton days, Diebold machines were being used. Diebold was a vocal supporter of the Clintons.

  • The Japanese are killing whales. America turned their oceans brown with crap dumped into it, and wildly overfish salmon and others. We're burying trash and nuclear waste that will not be safe until after the sun burns out. Illegally hunting and decimating entire species of animals. Destroying the rainforest. Corporate and individual greed isn't new, but we really seem to be intent on shooting ourselves in the foot with very large caliber weapons.
  • Then we're going to be surprised when the excrement hits the rotating device.

Attack of the Canes
My wife occasionally uses a cane and we have dubbed them Attack Canes. I can't even begin to explain this, but the name is quite accurate. If you open the car door from the outside, one of the canes jumps out at you. If you go to sit down, one of them is waiting for your butt to almost hit the seat. If you're driving, the little bastard will move itself onto the armrest or in the way of the shifter.

In the house, the evil manifests differently. Kept by the front door, anyone walking near it will get tripped when it falls over. If you leave it there, it will leap out at your foot. If you put it back and open the curtains, it will fall right on you. We could easily blame it on one Wayward Walking Device<tm>, but it's two of them. It used to be three, but one felt it wasn't able to do enough damage so it walked away and adopted another person who has trouble getting around.

It's not too big a thing, or wasn't, until today. Picking up a bottle of water, a broom fell on me. Then while making coffee, it fell on me in the other direction. Christ, what is it with tall thin sticks in this bloody place? You could blame it on gravity having effects on wood, but one of the canes is aluminum. We found one of those As Seen on TV jobbies that you put on the end of the cane to keep it standing up. They still jumped at us at every possible opportunity. Maybe they don't like dust.

The Hair on my Left Elbow is Killing Me

Due to my love affair with the couch, I seem to be attaining a soda belly. It's not my fault.. I'm not doing anything different.

Wife brings me some fresh cupcakes. I thank her and remind her, for the fourth time this week, that I'm trying to cut down.

"SINCE WHEN DO YOU CARE WHAT YOU LOOK LIKE?"

After that, she went to visit my parents. Mom was taping flowers to the wall. This is not a good thing. Mom would have ordered special flower mounts, not used tape.

It's just another day.

  • Saturday: 80 degrees. Sunday: 40 degrees. Monday: 4 hour flash flood warning. Tuesday: raining carburetors.

It's a sad thing to have to admit, but I never saw Led Zeppelin live. I did, however, catch the solo tours of Page and Plant immediately after. Page's doubleneck guitar got a round of cheers as it was put on its stand.

Everyone seems to be up for a reunion except Plant. It's difficult to form an opinion on this.. I want to see Led Zeppelin, as do millions across the globe. Plant's reasoning is that he doesn't want to be a best-of act. Understood, but if you do new material, you're not a best-of act. Meanwhile, his solo career is going well. I've seen a few concerts online and his band is in fine form and the songs are good. They even slip in a reworked Zep tune here and there. Recommended.

What's bothering me at the moment (as opposed to what's bothering me in general or specifically at any other moment) is something about Plant's solo career.  I don't even know what it is.  Recently I discovered some live shows from the early 80s. I was there, front and center, at the hockey stadium. For whatever reason, it became very important to listen to the concert and collect more. The music came back to me. I remembered the riffs and where everything went, including stuff I didn't remember I remembered. And then I had my fill.

Don't you know that I came across another old concert and some rehearsal material and listened for a bit. Now the songs are whirling through my head again, like one of those amusement park rides that... whirl. It is said that music recalls another time and place. I certainly don't feel like a different time or place. I feel good tunes. Regardless, they're back again and I'm enjoying them. It's just that I always have to know why, which makes life frustrating.

  • England recently held the BAFTA Game Awards. Yes, an awards ceremony dedicated to video games. Next year, the Hand Mixer Awards air for the first time. I, for one, can't wait.

If you log into your Yahoo or AOL email (if you still have AOL email, there's little that can help you), you'll see a new privacy and terms notice. In light of the Faceyspaces scandal, they want you to know they're reading your email, and will most likely share it with Verizon, their parent company. Full disclosure is wonderful, isn't it? Don't you feel better?

Speaking of Faceyspaces, Techpinions did a survey on 1,000 people, of which 9% said they deleted their accounts. I'm trying to figure out if this is a good thing or a bad thing. If the numbers hold, it's a pretty significant thing. To reach 9-10% of Faceyspaces users usually requires the personal invitation of a Kardashian. Or meth. While this number is significant, I'm bothered it wasn't higher. THANK YOU, SIR, MAY I HAVE ANOTHER?

Speaking of Faceyspaces again, they just deleted over 100 private discussion groups that have been facilitating identity fraud and cybercrime on the platform for years. Faceyspaces did not discover the groups by themselves. The whole operation would've been quick and efficient if someone complained that the groups were hate groups, run by right wingers.

  • Many Android device manufacturers are not telling the truth when they say they have patched phone vulnerabilities in new updates, researchers found. Fortunately I have nothing to worry about, as my carrier is too stupid to update anything and can't even tell me if I'm going to get the next version of Android.

  • It is of no matter that there are gays in the NFL. What does bother me is that the Social Justice Warriors (SJWs) are starting to get by the detectors. NFL player and activist Terry Crews said:
  • “People have to understand that masculinity can be a cult, and when I say cult, it’s not different from David Koresh, it’s not different from Jim Jones,”
Is this some sort of Halloween joke, where he dresses as a football player but in reality is some crazed uber-feminist with green hair? The cult of SJW is large and strong now.

  • A college in California (of course) is hosting a No Whites Allowed pool party.  Can you imagine a college hosting a No Blacks Allowed pool party? There would be riots and calls to burn the school down.
  • The invite stated only "people who identify as POC" permitted to attend (person of color).
  • No problem. I identify as a person of color. And a fire engine! Vroom vroom - wooooooooooooooo!

A few days back, there was an incident in a Philadelphia Starbucks, that has no doubt gone around the world. The only facts not in dispute are that there were two male People of Color. The employees told the men they couldn't use the restroom if they weren't paying customers. They called the police, who escorted them out. Both the police, who were on camera, and the mayor state that the police did nothing wrong. The POC are claiming racism. Starbucks has apologized, letting a POC spokesperson deliver the news. Philly's Groups You're Supposed to Apologize To are apoplectic, saying that they will not accept Starbucks' apology.

The mayor will meet with Starbucks, along with his HR Helpers in case of Unconscious Bias. Starbucks will force sensitivity training. It's good that the mayor could take time away from soda taxes and his great work with his sanctuary city.

Unconscious bias. What a great term!  Is racism losing its effectiveness?

Later that night, in a Philadelphia row home:

Dad, I learned about racism today in school. It's terrible. I'm not racist, am I?

No, son, you're not overtly racist, but we have to consider that you might be unconsciously racist.

What is uncongslee racist?

Well, you could be racist and not know it.

But Dad... how can I be racism and not know it?

Err... you could have a tiny little racism gene, waaaaaay down inside.

Well how do I know?

That's why the school district says everyone has to take unconscious racism training.

[crying] But Dad... I'm NOT a racist!

I know, Bobby, but you have to trust the training.

Will it tell me if I'm racist?

Um.. not entirely.

Then why do I have to take it - you know I hate tests.

Because everyone is racist, son. Unconsciously at least.

Who says that?

Human Resources departments.

How do they know?

Because... uhhhh.. they were told so.

By who?

Industry people. Mostly lawyers.

Do lawyers know if you're racist?

No, lawyers know that it's bad publicity to not look like you're doing something, plus people of color will blame you for being racist.

So I might not be racist unconshly?

No, but they invented the term just in case.

Dad, what's white privilege?

SHUT UP AND GO DO YOUR HOMEWORK.

Thank God for the federal government. Without their intrusive nannying, it's a wonder any one of us is still alive. The FDA has banned the sale of caffeine in bulk quantities directly to consumers.  No, seriously. They said it could lead to injury or death.

Still no word on aspartame, or the thousands of other things they approved that can cause injury or death. Next week, the FDA will ban water, because too much water can kill you. Look up hyperhydration or water toxemia.

If any of you can snag an interview with Ben Franklin or Thomas Jefferson, can you ask them about this? I'm pretty sure their intent was to allow citizens to make their own mistakes.

  • The Pentagon has turned loose a $5.1 million contract to a cybersecurity to identify illness in its soldiers via their smartphones. SARGE - hold your fire - I need to send a text!
  • The phone's camera, microphone, and motion sensors will be used 'to keep tabs on deployed U.S. service members.'
  • The ACLU said there just might be some privacy issues here.
  • What kind of pussies work at the ACLU? Just because the government will soon have the ability to monitor your 'health' by turning on every sensor your phone has, doesn't constitute a privacy problem.
  • I call BS. They can already turn on the sensors. This is just preparing us for the announcement. Even if you don't believe me, you can still see it happening, right out in the open.

That Damn Cartoon Music

I've been a Frank Zappa fan for as long as I can remember.
And why not? When you put a song like Yellow Snow near a teenager, it's bound to happen.

I had no choice but to dig deeper into the catalog. I liked more and more of his music. The first album (yes, album) I got was The Mothers, Live at the Fillmore 1971. This quickly became a favorite, playing over and over, even though I had to get up to flip the record every time. Aside from the very interesting musicianship, the thing that got me was the fantastic interplay between the singers, Mark Volman and Howard Kaylan. Only later did I learn they were The Turtles (Happy Together, actually performed on the album), aka Flo and Eddie. These two were hysterical and worked incredibly well together and with the band. Of course Frank rehearsed them to the edge of their lives. It was a huge production, and I wanted to see that live. Alas, this was a small part of Zappa history, without a ton of video I could locate. This was also before the internet [SHOCK and AWE!].

The theme of the album was being a rock star and traveling all over the country, meeting and trying to bed groupies.  Between the hilarity was instrumental bits that were kind of interesting. Not the usual masturbatory guitar solos I listened to normally. Frank was a great guitar player and a complete 180 degrees from anyone else who played. He played for as long as he wanted, and it was interesting all the way. The instrumental bits were not all guitar solos - he had other interesting things happening, but not too weird... just slightly out in his own neighborhood. Do you see why I never got called to write reviews professionally?

It's a good thing, too. Whenever I read or hear a review, I always wonder if the reviewer and I listened to the same piece of music. What I heard as ear-piercing howling, the reviewer referred to as 'the wide range of the lead singer's voice'.

In any case, further explorations into Frank's catalog turned up a few more hits and catchy bits. And even more strange, out there compositions. I refer to them as compositions because that's what we was: a composer. Yes, he had songs, but some of the stuff he did was beyond explanation; way too complex for my young ears to grasp. So I left the compositions there and enjoyed the Joe's Garage trilogy.

As I matured musically (who the hell am I kidding - I matured in nothing and remain the same genial hardhead I was at 16), I went back to the complex stuff and found I had an appreciation for it. Mind you, this is the music that parents and girlfriends call Cartoon Music, because it's very busy, fast, and jumps around a lot. It's also impossible for most rock musicians to play, but I appreciated the hell out of it. Mrs leftystrat, not so much. Since she processes things differently, it's too busy for her. Having read Vonnegut, especially what read like time travel, it confused the hell out of me. She said it was perfectly understandable to her. Oh well... if we were the same, there'd be no fun in it.

In listening to the more complex stuff, I gained an appreciation for what must've been involved, and composition in general. I sure as hell couldn't do that.

Try it out for yourself. A ton of his songs appears on YouTube. Funny stuff and cartoon stuff. Also a series called Shut Up And Play Your Guitar, which is, as you'd expect, only instrumental. If you like the music, please purchase it to help his kids, who are split into warring factions.

  • A blind guy goes kayaking in the Grand Canyon. Fortunately he's not crazy enough to do it himself: he takes a guide who knows the area like the back of his hand, as well as his team, which stays in touch by radio. You know what happens next, right? There's a sudden disturbance in the water, a reinforced fiberglass paddle snaps, and the kayak turns over, trapping him in the water.  The guide, I mean.

How's Marshall?

He went for his followup visit at the acupuncturist the other day. She's very pleased at his progress. His lesion has shrunk significantly! We're beyond thrilled.

Think about this for a minute. The doctor thoroughly examines him, sticks a few needles in him and sends him home with some Eye of Newt and Stuff, and he's doing better in two weeks, maybe sooner. What does this tell you about chemicals?

Possibly to detract from getting well, his behavior has gone down the loo. He has successfully taught his mommy to walk him on command. Marshall has his own yard, so he can do whatever he wants. But there's something about his leash that makes him happy. Starting at two or three in the morning, he whines, very quietly at first, then ramps the volume and pitch until she gets up and does what he wants. Since he discovered she will walk him, he now sits by the door and whines. He trained her faster than he could ever be trained. To be fair, we never know whether the pitiful whining is pain or manipulation. My wife, bless her, lets me sleep because I have to work. Plus training me could take years.

As we know, I'm always late to the party.
HOW LATE ARE YOU?
I'm so late that I didn't know Barry Manilow was gay until last year.
THAT'S REALLY FRIGGIN LATE.

I didn't realize the power of my own dog.

When he went to the acupuncture doc, she and her assistant were oohing and ahhing over him, saying no way he could be 13-14 and he has a puppy face. The doc asked if it was ok to take pictures of him. Ok, but I'm not going to be a stage parent.

The regular vet practice is also incredibly fond of him. We take him when we're just picking something up and the multi-doctor practice goes on hold until everyone has come out and said hi to him. He's a celebrity.

On twitter, people follow his progress. One fan said if she lived here, she'd steal him.

That dog has more mojo than Dr John. If I ever needed a date, all I'd have to do is stand near him.

I can say, completely objectively, that he's a tremendously good looking cocker.
And some sort of furry therapist... he brings out all sorts of things in people.  Who knew?

The Unsatisfactory Crunch of Ladyfingers

A warm hello to my readers outside of the US. I hope you enjoy it here and stop by frequently.

Submitted for the sake of awareness and amusement, because none of us use iDevices: there is yet another lockscreen bypass. Long story short, don't use Siri. If that isn't an option, don't allow Siri access to the lockscreen. I've seen Siri's movies: trust me - you're not missing anything.

  • Before we do our Happy Dance, this is satire.

Microsoft just joined the Linux Foundation. As a platinum member.  Which costs $500,000 yearly for dues (the price of one small cabin in the woods in Redmond).

I read about this yesterday and it has taken me this long to type it out. It may take me a longer time to fully digest it. MS already uses Ubuntu for its cloud-based big-data services. Former chief Steve Ballmer once said, "Linux is a cancer." Current ThermionicEmissions chief leftystrat says, "Windows is not an operating system, Windows is a virus." MS claims this will allow it to work closer with the open source community.

In other news, Lions have joined the Gazelle Foundation.

  • President-elect Trump has asked his appointees to sign a pledge that once they leave government service, they will not lobby for five years. You don't have to like him, but this is a pretty good move. I suspect we'll see a few more. DISCLAIMER: As we know, I didn't vote for him.
  • Speaking of president, there are quiet a number of people heavily invested in our election and its result. Yesterday I heard a Canadian stating that he was backing Trump all the way. I know a Brit and a Welshman singing his praises, as if they lived in the US. They were enthralled with his manner of governing and policies and said so. Most are anti-Social Justice Warrior, which might explain things.
  • Here is a list of other people being considered for Cabinet positions:
  • Janet Reno
  • James Clapper
  • Billy Mays
  • Several parrots named Eric
  • Pat Paulsen
  • Milton Berle
  • Paula Deen
  • Tito Jackson
  • Tracy Lords

Speaking of Wales, Cardiff Airport is getting a third bus stop! This is some interesting Welsh satire. I hope. You have to be careful with a language that has no vowels.

  • Today's Word: gynocentrism
  • Along with this Word is the story of a transgender woman, transitioned to a white man, who now is no longer diverse enough to be a college diversity officer. Never mind why colleges need a diversity officer.

For those of you who know someone who uses Faceyspaces Messenger, don't open "Photo_9166.svg" - it's ransomware. With that in mind, make sure you have a backup of all your data, phone(s) and computer(s), in case of something like this. Also DON'T CLICK ON ANYTHING. If in doubt, use the Law of WWlD - What Would leftystrat Do: nothing. Consider everything a potential problem until you can verify it, even from a friend. Put on your Security Hat and don't get caught with your data down.

  • Betcha didn't know this: Women raping men are "merely expressing retaliation against men for enforcing rape culture"

I have had no end of fun at Kanye's expense. Now that he has had an involuntary commitment and psych evaluation, I hope he's ok. I hope he's ok for BigAss and the kids and himself. And so I can have some more fun at his expense.

  • A Malawi man has been sentenced to two years hard labour for having unprotected sex while HIV-positive. This is even worse than two years hard labor.

A UK author is helping schoolchildren re-imagine (rewrite) Cinderella for a new generation, because it's sexist.  Let's see - Cinderella vs The Patriarchy. Her evil stepbrothers are keeping her down, so with the help of a group of online Social Justice Warriors, she busts out to run for Congress, which is a birthright of all women.  Her evil stepbrothers are forced to attend Any Old University, where they will be indoctrinated to the ways of Feminism and learn to hate all men, especially themselves. Cinderella meets a man but declines to propose marriage because she'd have white children and doesn't want to do that to the world. So she, with the help and sisterhood of Wonderful Stepsisters, runs for president, where anyone who doesn't vote for her is sexist.

Guess which part of the above has not come from real life...

  • Wondering what to get someone else's kids for the holidays? You may want to avoid anything from Samsung (unless you really really hate kids). I suggest something that makes a LOT of noise. A xylophone, a set of drums, a plastic box that makes all sorts of random noises. Remember: the kids will love it and the parents will hate you forever. Win/win.

The use of chlorine weapons is suspected in Aleppo, making this year's Nobel Peace Prize a 3-way tie between Obama, Trump, and Bashar al-Assad.
